Free Lipedema Peer Support
Diagnosed with lipedema in 2025, but lived with it since my teenage years. Here to share practical, budget-friendly strategies that reduced my pain, swelling & frustration. Informal, compassionate support—no perfectionism. Not medical advice.
What is Lipedema?
Lipedema is a chronic condition (often genetic) that causes disproportionate fat buildup in the legs, thighs, arms & sometimes the buttocks. It's painful, bruise-prone & resistant to diet/exercise. Unlike regular fat, it worsens with hormones (puberty, pregnancy). Affects ~11% of women.
Symptoms: heaviness, tenderness, easy bruising, "column-like" legs.
- Disproportionate lower-body fat (slim upper body common)
- Pain on touch, swelling (non-pitting)
- Easy bruising, mobility issues
- Emotional toll: Body image struggles
Source: Lipedema Foundation (non-medical overview). See a doctor for diagnosis/treatment (e.g., compression, MLD).
My Lipedema Journey
Diagnosed in 2025 after years of mystery pain & "stubborn fat." As a busy woman, I tested anti-inflammatory tweaks using local foods.
Result: Less swelling, better energy, emotional ease.
I'm not a doctor—just a peer who's been there.
